PREAMBLE<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

WHEREAS\u00a0 THE\u00a0 UNION\u00a0 BELIEVES<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n
That\u00a0 the\u00a0 establishments\u00a0 of\u00a0 an\u00a0 anti-racist\u00a0 \/\u00a0 non\u00a0 racial,\u00a0 non-discriminatory,\u00a0 non-exploitative\u00a0 and\u00a0 democratic\u00a0 society\u00a0 depends on\u00a0 the\u00a0 unity\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 working\u00a0 class\u00a0 directed\u00a0 at\u00a0 the\u00a0 eradication\u00a0 of<\/span><\/h5>\n
oppression,\u00a0 exploitation\u00a0 and\u00a0 discrimination\u00a0 as\u00a0 well\u00a0 as\u00a0 the promotion,\u00a0 development\u00a0 and\u00a0 maintenance\u00a0 of\u00a0 an\u00a0 authentic working\u00a0 class\u00a0 leadership.<\/span><\/h5>\n
In\u00a0 workers\u00a0 uniting\u00a0 and\u00a0 developing\u00a0 themselves\u00a0 so\u00a0 that\u00a0 they control\u00a0 their\u00a0 own\u00a0 destiny\u00a0 and\u00a0 take\u00a0 their\u00a0 historic\u00a0 role\u00a0 as\u00a0 the vanguard\u00a0 at\u00a0 the\u00a0 struggle\u00a0 for\u00a0 liberation.<\/span><\/h5>\n

OBJECTIVES<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n
\u00a0The\u00a0 objects\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 Trade\u00a0 Union\u00a0 shall\u00a0 be<\/span><\/h5>\n
a) To regulate\u00a0 relations\u00a0 between\u00a0 employees\u00a0 and\u00a0 employers,\u00a0 including\u00a0 any\u00a0 employers\u00a0organizations<\/span><\/h5>\n
b) To promote\u00a0 the\u00a0 interest\u00a0 of\u00a0 members;<\/span><\/h5>\n
c) To\u00a0 plan\u00a0 and\u00a0 organize\u00a0 collect\u00a0 subscriptions\u00a0 from\u00a0 members\u00a0 and\u00a0 to\u00a0 administer\u00a0 the union’s\u00a0 affairs\u00a0 and\u00a0 activities;<\/span><\/h5>\n
d) To affiliate\u00a0 with\u00a0 and\u00a0 participate\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 affairs\u00a0 of\u00a0 any\u00a0 national\u00a0 or\u00a0 international\u00a0 workers\u00a0organization\u00a0 or\u00a0 international\u00a0 labour\u00a0 organizations;<\/span><\/h5>\n
e) To promote,\u00a0 support\u00a0 or\u00a0 oppose\u00a0 any\u00a0 proposed\u00a0 legislative\u00a0 or\u00a0 other\u00a0 measures\u00a0 affecting\u00a0the\u00a0 interest\u00a0 of\u00a0 members;<\/span><\/h5>\n
To\u00a0 use\u00a0 every\u00a0 legitimate\u00a0 means\u00a0 to\u00a0 recruit\u00a0 employees\u00a0 to\u00a0 become\u00a0 members;<\/span><\/h5>\n
g) To provide\u00a0 legal\u00a0 assistance\u00a0 to\u00a0 members\u00a0 in\u00a0 connection\u00a0 with\u00a0 employment;<\/span><\/h5>\n
h) To establish\u00a0 and\u00a0 administer\u00a0 funds\u00a0 for\u00a0 the\u00a0 benefits\u00a0 of\u00a0 it’s\u00a0 members\u00a0 and\u00a0 their\u00a0dependents.<\/span><\/h5>\n
i) To encourage\u00a0 the\u00a0 settlements\u00a0 of\u00a0 disputes\u00a0 between\u00a0 members\u00a0 and\u00a0 employers\u00a0 or employers\u00a0 organization\u00a0 by\u00a0 conciliation,\u00a0 mediation,\u00a0 arbitration\u00a0 and\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n
j) To do\u00a0 such\u00a0 lawful\u00a0 things\u00a0 as\u00a0 may\u00a0 appear\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 interest\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 trade\u00a0 union\u00a0 and\u00a0 its\u00a0members\u00a0 and\u00a0 which\u00a0 are\u00a0 not\u00a0 inconsistent\u00a0 with\u00a0 the\u00a0 objects\u00a0 or\u00a0 any\u00a0 matter\u00a0 specifically provided\u00a0 for\u00a0 in\u00a0 this\u00a0 constitution\u00a0 with,\u00a0 and\u00a0 to\u00a0 provide\u00a0 contractual\u00a0 employment\u00a0 as\u00a0 may deem\u00a0 fit\u00a0 for\u00a0 the\u00a0 benefit\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 organization\u00a0 and\u00a0 it’s members;<\/span><\/h5>\n
k) To borrow,\u00a0 invest,\u00a0 lend,\u00a0 subscribe\u00a0 or\u00a0 donate\u00a0 money\u00a0 for\u00a0 furtherance\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 objects\u00a0 of\u00a0the\u00a0 trade\u00a0 union.<\/span><\/h5>\n
